Baby Ben Update

God is good!

Little Ben is in stable condition at Egleston.  He is resting in the Cardiac ICU.  The surgery went well and the doctors are optomistic that this will fix his problems.

Please continue to pray for him, especially for the next 12-24 hours, because they are critical.

The plan is to begin removing “his medical support” over the next couple of days.  We are praying for complete healing and that he has no set backs!!!

Also, as a mama, my heart goes out to Kelly.  She has been through so much since delivering FRIDAY.  (for those of us who have delivered before, we know recovery is tough)  I worry she isn’t taking care of herself, but who can blame her.  Please pray for her body and for her to have a sweet peace!

Hug those babies tight tonight – for they are good and perfect gifts from above!!!

Also- When you have a baby – please stay until your insurance kicks you out.  Baby Ben was doing fine until 30 something hours – he could have easily have been discharged.  When the distress hit, if he had been at home in his bed  — well, I don’t even want to think about it!  (Note – if you think your baby’s u/s looked good – so did Kelly’s 4 u/s of Baby Ben’s heart– his problem is only diagnosed after birth)

  1. I am praying for your family. Also what an amazing gift that God is already using their hardship for good. Those few snippits about staying in the hospital and ultrasounds could save one of our(future) babies lives! Thanks Katie.

  2. How good it was to have you and Chad there today. I know it was hard with all Chad has going on but I know K & G appreciated it. It’s what family does, isn’t it, Baby Girl?? So proud of you. And Everybodys rocks!! Great pizza and great laughs after an extremely hard day.

  3. Thank you, Precious Katie and Sweet Chad for living out your lives in front of those of us lucky to know you. It’s an honor to call you friends and to send up prayers on your behalf!

I meant what I said- if you need some rest, we’re here to help with Charlie!

    God is so good!

  4. Oh, yeah, and I started my blog up again… We’ll see what happens.
