To Splash or not to Splash

I wanted to give you guys my opinions on Splash!  We went to Panama City Beach last week and stayed at Sterling Splash.  We had heard that Panama City had been “refreshed” so we decided to venture from our usual Destin venue.  The Cottles let me select the condo, just like last year when I got to plan the cruise!  They know I like planning just about anything, am budget conscience, and know the most about what “the package” needs.  A friend had stayed at Boardwalk in PC, so I started looking there.  They offer a phenomemal toddler/preschool splash area.  The only downside was the price.

So then we found Splash.  It offered 3 bedroom condos with a kiddie area and the price seemed to be fair.  It was a good deal in my opinion!

Things we loved:

  1. The multiple pools (some were in the shade and some in the sun)
  2. The Lazy River (Charlie finally decided to “swim” without holding on to one of us)
  3. The Toddler Area (while not very big, it did offer a place for our little man)
  4. The Free Movie Rentals available each night
  5. Being close to the new Pier Park
  6. Connected to Alvins Island.  Although we never went in – it wold be nice if you needed something!
  7. The Condo’s Layout.  We stayed in the 3 bedroom and it really was a 2 bedroom condo and a Suite/Efficiency Room.  Basically our key opened a door to a foyer with 2 more doors.  Both were ours.  Chad and I had a room with a kitchenette and a huge bathroom! It gave us a bit of privacy!  Then the other door led to a condo with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, etc.  All 3 bedrooms had balconys overlooking the ocean.

Things we didn’t love:

  1. The Dirty Carpet throughout the condo and entryways
  2. The location (On the opposite side of town as the majority of the places we went to eat)
  3. The “Splash” Zone (WAY TOO LOUD)
  4. There was not a lot of “deck” area.  In the summers it would be really crowded and hard to even walk from place to place I would think!
